Ch.2-5　やせるのにどれくらいかかるの？

Christofer Robin lived at the other end of the Forest, and when he came back with Rabbit, and saw thr front half of Pooh, he said, "Silly old Bear," in such a loving voice that everybody felt quite hopeful again.
クリストファー・ロビンは森の反対側に住んでいました。彼がラビットと一緒に戻ってきて、プーの前半分を見ると・・・「バカなクマだな！」と、優しい声で言うと誰でも再び希望が湧いてくるのを感じました。

"I was just beginning to think," said Bear, sniffing slightly, "that Rabbit might never be able to use his front door again. And I should hate that," he said.
「ラビットはもう玄関を使えなくなるかもしれないって考え始めてたんだ。それが嫌だったんだ。」少し鼻をクンクン鳴らして、プーは言いました。

"So should I." said Rabbit.
「ボクもそうだよ。」ラビットは言いました。

"Use his front door again?" said Christofer Robin. "Of course he'll use his front door again."
「玄関が使えないって？もちろん使えるようになるさ。」クリストファー・ロビンは言いました。

"Good," said Rabbit.
「いいね。」ラビットは言いました。

"If we can't pull you out, Pooh, we might push you back."
「君を引っ張り出せないのなら、プー、押し戻そうかな。」

Rabbit scratched his whiskers thoughtfully, and pointed out that, when once Pooh was pushed back, he was back, and of course nobody was more glad to see Pooh than he was, still there it was, some lived in trees and some lived underground, and ー
ラビットは考えながら、ひげを引っ掻っかいて指摘しました。プーが押し戻され、穴に戻ったら、もちろんプー以外は誰も喜ばなくて、そうなれば、木に住むものも、地中に住むものもー、

"You mean I'd never get out?" said Pooh.
「もう外に出れないってこと？」プーは言いました。

"I mean," said Rabbit, "that having got so far, it seems a pity to waste it."
「ここまで来てるんだから、それを無駄にはできないよって言ってるんだ。」と、ラビットは言いました。

Christofer Robin nodded.
クリストファー・ロビンは頷きました。

"Then there's only one thing to be done," he said. "We shall have to wait for you to get thin again."
「じゃあ1つだけ方法がある。君がやせるまで待とう。」と彼は言いました。

"How long does getting thin take?" asked Pooh anxiously.
「やせるのにどれくらいかかるの？」プーは心配そうに言いました。

"About a week, I should think."
「１週間ってとこかな。」

"But I can't stay here for a week!"
「１週間も居れないよ！」
