セリフをそのまま、「“ ”（引用符）」で囲う表現を「[color color=”red”]直接話法[/color]」といいます。
「” ”（引用符）」を使わずに、接続詞を使って表現するのを「[color color=”red”]間接話法[/color]」といいます。
ここでは[color color=”red”]「命令文」[/color]の直接話法を間接話法に書き換える例を見てみましょう。
He said to me, “Stay home with me.” （直接話法）
彼は私に、「私といっしょに家にいなさい。」と言った。
→ He told me to stay home with him. （間接話法）
She said to him, “Please help me with my homework.” （直接話法）
彼女は彼に、「私の宿題を手伝ってください。」と言った。
→ She asked him to help her with her homework. （間接話法）
My father said to me, “Don’t touch the window.” （直接話法）
父は私に、「その窓にさわるな。」と言った。
→ My father told me not to touch the window. （間接話法）
直接話法を間接話法に直すには、
※「私」と「あなた」の人称代名詞はすべて、「言った人」と「言われた人」言い換えます。
※ say ／ said（過去形）に対しては、「命令調」であれば、 tell 、「お願い文」であれば、 ask に変えます。
※ 「命令文」のつなぎ方は、 to 不定詞を用います。
