"Oh!" said Pooh.
「わあ！」と、プーは言いました。
"Oh, Pooh!" said everybody else except Eeyore.
「わあ、プー！」イーヨー以外のみんなが言いました。
"Thank-you," growled Pooh.
「ありがとう。」プーは言いました。
But Eeyore was saying to himself,
でもイーヨーはぶつぶつひとり言を言っていました。
"This writing business. Pencils and what-not. Over-rated, if you ask me. Silly stuff. Nothing in it."
「こんな書き物。鉛筆やら何やら。ボクに言わせれば、そんなに良いもんじゃない。バカげてる、つまらない。」
Later on, when they had all said "Good-bye" and "Thank-you" to Christofer Robin, Pooh and Piglet walked home thoughtfully together in the golden evening, and for a long time they were silent.
その後、みんながクリストファー・ロビンに、「さよなら。」「ありがとう。」を言って別れると、プーとピグレットは一緒に夕陽を浴びて、考えながら家に帰りました。彼らは長い間黙っていました。
"When you wake up in the morning, Pooh," said Piglet at last, "What's the first thing you say to yourself?"
「プー、朝、目覚めたときに最初に何て言う？」とうとうピグレットが言いました。
"What's for breakfast?" said Pooh. "What do you say, Piglet?"
「朝食なにかな？」プーは言いました。「ピグレット、君は何て言う？」
"I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?" said Piglet.
「今日はどんな面白いことが起こるだろうかって言うよ。」ピグレットは言いました。
プーは考えながら、頷きました。
"It's the same thing," he said.
「同じことだよ。」彼は言いました。

"And what did happen?" asked Christofer Robin.
「そして何が起こったの？」クリストファー・ロビンは尋ねました。
"When?"
「いつ？」
"Next morning."
「次の朝。」
"I don't know."
「知らない。」
"Could you think and tell me and Pooh sometime?"
「考えてボクやプーに話してよ。」
"If you wanted it very much."
「どうしても聞きたいならね。」
"Pooh does," said Christofer Robin.
「プーは聞きたいと思うよ。」クリストファー・ロビンは言いました。

He gave a deep sigh, picked his bear up by the leg and walked off to the door, trailing Winnie-the-Pooh behind him.
彼は深いため息をついて、クマの足を持ち、ウィニー・ザ・プーを引きずりながらドアの方へ歩いて行きました。
At the door he turned and said "Coming to see me have my bath?"
そして、振り返って、「お風呂はいるのを見に来る？」と言いました。
"I might," I said.
「来るかもしれない。」私は言いました。
"Was Pooh's pencil case any better than mine?"
「プーの筆箱はボクのより良かった？」
"It was just about the same," I said.
「同じ位だった。」私は言いました。
He nodded and went out . . . and in a moment I heard Winnie-the-Pooh ーbump, bump, bump ー going up the stairs behind him.
彼は頷き、部屋を出ました・・・そしてすぐに私は、彼の後をウィニー・ザ・プーが階段をドスン、ドスンと登っていくのが聞こえました。
