It is ～ that の強調構文というのは、強調したい語句を～の部分に入れて、その残りの文を that 以下におくものです
例えば、I met the boy in the park yesterday. （私は昨日公園でその少年に会った。）という文であれば、動詞の met 以外は It is ～ that の強調構文で強調できます。
（ the boy ）を強調する場合、
It was the boy that I met in the park yesterday.
私が昨日公園で会ったのはその少年だ。
（ in the park ）を強調する場合、
It was in the park that I met the boy yesterday.
私が昨日その少年に会ったのは公園の中だ。
（ yesterday ）を強調する場合、
It was yesterday that I met the boy in the park.
私が公園でその少年と会ったのは昨日のことだ。
（代名詞 I ）を強調する場合、
It was I that met the boy in the park yesterday.
昨日公園でその少年に会ったのは私だ。
注）くだけた言い方で、It was me that met the boy in the park yesterday. と言うこともある。
注）強調する語が主語で人の場合、who を使うこともある。
It was Mr. Johnson who spoke first.
最初に口をきいたのはジョンソン氏であった。
疑問詞を強調したい場合、
Where did you meet the boy?
＝ Where was it that you met the boy?
一体どこであなたはその少年に会ったのですか？
※ 疑問詞は常に文頭に置かれ、「疑問の形」を作るので上のようになる。
