人称代名詞・指示代名詞

３人称	単	彼	he	his	him
		彼女	she	her	her
		それ	it	its	it

「～のもの」という意味の代名詞

	単数	複数

「～自身」という意味の代名詞

１人称	myself	ourselves
２人称	yourself	yourselves
３人称	himself herself itself	themselves

 

指示代名詞

目に見えるところにあるものや人を指す代名詞を「指示代名詞」といいます。

近くにあるものは、[color color=”red”]this[/color]（これ）、[color color=”red”]these[/color]（これら）

遠くにあるものは、[color color=”red”]that[/color]（これ）、[color color=”red”]those[/color]（これら）

This is a dog.
これは犬です。

That is my father.
あれは私のお父さんです。

These are good books.
これらは良い本です。

Those are my pencils.
あれらは私の鉛筆です。

 

「これ」とか「あれ」と訳さない場合もあります。

This is Kate.
こちらはケイトです。
（人に紹介するとき）

This is my house.
ここが私の家です。

This is my birthday.
今日は私の誕生日です。

Hello, this is Mike.
もしもし、こちらはマイクです。
（電話で）

 

一つ前のものを指して、「それ、そのこと」という意味を表します。

Let’s play tennis.　　ー　　That’s a good idea.
テニスをしましょう。　ー　それはいいですね。

Did you write this letter?　　ー　　That’s right.
あなたがこの手紙を書いたのですか？　ー　そのとおりです。

（That’s　は　That is　の短縮形です。）

 

this that は形容詞としても使えます。

those pencils（これらの鉛筆）
