Ch.5-4　「キミがその歌を作ったの？」

Before he had gone very far he heard a noise.
あまり遠くに行かない内に、彼は音を聞きました。

So he stopped and listened.
だから彼は立ち止まってじっと聞きました。

This was the noise.
これがその音でした。

プーによる騒音

Oh, the butterflies are flying,
おー、蝶々が飛んでいる

Now the winter days are dying,
もう冬も終わりだ

And the primroses are trying
サクラソウも

To be seen
出始めている

And the turtle-doves are cooing,
キジバトがクーと鳴いている

And the woods are up and doing,
そして森は活動している

For the violets are blue-ing
スミレが青いから

In the green
緑の中で

Oh, the honey-bees are gumming
おー、ミツバチが羽を閉じて

On their little wings, and humming
歌ってる、

That the summer, which is coming,
今度来る夏は

Will be fun.
楽しいだろうと

And the cows are almost cooing,
そして牛の鳴き声はほとんどクー

And turtle-doves are mooing,
そしてキジバトはモー

Which is why a Pooh is poohing
だからプーはプー

In the sun.
日なたで

For the spring is really springing;
春は飛び跳ね

You can see a skylark singing
ひばりが鳴いているのが見える

And the blue-bells, which are ringing,
歌っているブルーベルが

Can be heard.
聞こえる

And the cuckoo isn't cooing,
そしてカッコーはクーと鳴いていない

But he's cucking and he's cooing
彼はカッと鳴いたり、コーと鳴いたり

And a Pooh is simply poohing
そしてプーはただプーと鳴いてる

Like a bird.
鳥のように

"Hallo, Pooh," said Rabbit.
「やあ、プー。」ラビットは言いました。

"Hallo, Rabbit," said Pooh dreamily.
「やあ、ラビット。」プーは夢見ここちで言いました。

"Did you make that song up?"
「キミがその歌を作ったの？」

"Well, I sort of made it up," said Pooh. "It isn't Brain," he went on humbly, "because You Know Why, Rabbit; but it comes to me sometimes."
「そうだね。ボクが作ったんだよ。」プーは言いました。「頭は使ってないんだ。」彼は控えめに言いました。「知ってるよね、ラビット。時々浮かんでくるんだ。」
